Back to Pious Puffin Home

According to the Ship's Log, Ken and Lue Curtis came aboard and took possession of the Pious Puffin II at 2:30 pm on January 14th, 1974. They purchased her for approximately $64,000 (1973 for-sale ad), and over the next four years completed the restoration begun by Bill Siebert.

Lue created a synopsis of their experiences.

Also included here is part of the family photo album, and some of Jon's recollections.

They had a painting of the Pious Puffin commissioned from Maurice Gamache.

The Curtises completed restorations but did not have enough funds remaining to do the "sailing aound the world" they had dreamed of. They sold the Pious Puffin for approximately $142,000 (1978 for-sale ad) to an interest in Texas who took her to the Cayman Islands.
