Back to Pious Puffin Home

After the donation by Josephine Forrestal the Pious Puffin II was featured on a dedication for the James V. Forestal Library at Jones College, February 23rd 1967. The College sent the Curtises a number of photos.

But by August of 1968 she had been de-masted in an accidental encounter with a bridge. This postcard was sent to Jones College to remind them it was time to have the Pious Puffin hauled for its annual barnacle scraping. But the postcard itself also shows the Pious Puffin docked at the marina with its masts in disarray.

The College had indicated that a couple of professors had taken the Pious Puffin under a bridge which was too low for her 65' masts.
